A CV should always be accompanied by a covering letter, even if the advertisement
does not ask for one.
- The letter should be a maximum of one page
- Always word process the letter for maximum impact
- Wherever possible, address it to the relevant person and not just to ‘Whom it may
concern'
- It should ideally be four paragraphs with the first one stating what job you are
applying for and where it was advertised.
- The second paragraph should explain why you think you are most suitable for the
job.
- The third paragraph should further discuss your skills directly relevant to the
job
- The fourth paragraph should be the ending paragraph stating you look forward to
hearing for them in the near future
